Well Done America

It seems like America’s new favourite colour is orange. That’s right, Donald Trump is the new face of the country. He is a very good spokesman and businessman and that has been proven by his striving company and his fortune, however it should have stayed at that. The president is someone who represents the country and does his/her best to make the country strive. My question is why has America chosen a man who doesn’t seem to respect women, goes against the law, and tries to trick people into believing him? America did not do a homerun with this year's new president.

Haven’t we been raised into a world where we should respect everyone and not judge people by their looks, beliefs or heritage? In multiple different interviews Trump directly refers to an ethnic group and criticizes them and states their intentions as a whole. He even went as far as to promise to build a wall between Mexico and USA. Didn’t the Berlin wall already teach us about how cruel and unorthodox that suggestion is? Trump also could not accept an American man to be American because he was of Mexican heritage. I think this is enough to concrete the claim that this man is racist. Need I remind the definition of racism according to oxford dictionaries is: "the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics, abilities, or qualities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.”

Now to all the females in the house. We’ve fought for equality for a long time now and some people say that we have reached it but is this true. If the president of the United States of America has multiple times talked about women as if they are merely objects judged by their looks with no voice to say no, then do we have equality? The answer is no and to add on to that we also have a sexist president. What kind of impression does that give to the country? My guess is that it makes it look like there is no respect for women and men can do as they will, even quoted by Trump: “Grab them (women) by the pussy”[sic.]. Now how do the women feel like in that country? My last guess would be safe and respected.

It is too late to change America’s decision now. They have chosen this sexist and racist man to represent them for the next, at least, 4 years. Although to be fair, the rivalling candidate Hillary Clinton was not any better. Already now Trump has started to take back his previous promises. Looks like Trump is not staying by his word. I wonder what will happen during these next 4 years, however luckily Trump can’t enforce laws without it passing the senate first, so America you have hope. Hopefully by the next election, America will have chosen more suitable candidates, such as Michelle Obama.

Till then, good luck America!

  2. Very nice text and you have many strong points. I agree with your statements. The title is humorous and eye-catching. You focus a lot on sexism and racism, and it would have been interesting to see other aspects.

  3. This highlights the state of complete ignorance some people live in as they willingly elect a president who promises a third world war upon them. I completely agree with the statements made, and the title summarises the reaction of the rest on Europe as they saw the poll results.

  4. I like the tone of this post - it's familiar, yet not too informal.
